🩺 Save Lives Through Urgent Kidney Dialysis
Every day, hundreds of Yemenis suffering from kidney failure face a terrifying reality—no access to life-saving dialysis treatments. With hospitals overwhelmed and supplies dwindling, patients are dying simply because they cannot afford care.
Dialysis is a procedure used to remove waste products and excess fluid from the blood when the kidneys stop working properly. It typically involves diverting blood to a machine to be cleaned. When the procedure is needed and you are unable to afford or access it, your kidneys continue to fail—and eventually, they will pass away.
📉 A Healthcare System in Crisis
Yemen had 32 dialysis centers before the war—4 have closed, and the remaining 28 are barely functioning. The country needs at least 70 centers, creating a 60% shortage that threatens over 45,000 patients suffering from chronic and acute kidney failure.
Patients who should receive three four-hour sessions per week are now forced to survive on just two, due to broken machines, lack of supplies, and unpaid staff. Without more dialysis supplies, functioning machines, and funding for medical staff, the mortality rate will continue to rise.
